This week’s East Village Boy of the Week is Waya, from Málaga, Spain

This is Waya, a very close friend. We first did a shoot - we were just playing around, I really didn’t have to direct him at all, it was just like normal, hanging out. When I was drawing I wanted to emphasize the mixture of innocent ‘pop’ appeal with a suggestiveness that isn’t so pop. That’s what I find so interesting about the way youth is portrayed in the mainstream. - Jacobo Labella
